Melhor do ano: Cristiano Ronaldo responde a Pelé

Cristiano Ronaldo está na corrida por dois prémios de melhor jogador do ano: o FIFA World Player e a Bola de Ouro da revista France Football. O extremo português é um dos principais candidatos à conquista dos prémios e não esconde que gostaria de ganhar, mas diz que isso «não é uma obsessão».
«Não vou mentir e dizer que não é um objectivo. Claro que é. Mas não é uma obsessão. As coisas levam o seu tempo. Ganhe ou não, vou continuar a ser a mesma pessoa», disse o internacional português, em declarações à TVI .
Ronaldo garante não desanimar se não conquistar um prémio que, acredita, mais tarde ou mais cedo lhe será atribuído: «É um objectivo que tenho em mente desde que comecei a carreira. Vou continuar a trabalhar com o intuito de ser o melhor. Se não for este ano será no próximo ou no outro a seguir. Um dia irei ser o melhor.»
Pelé disse um dia que Cristiano Ronaldo nunca ia ser o melhor do mundo. O português respeita as palavras do brasileiro, mas admite que as considera injustas. «Há outras estrelas que disseram o contrário. Eu aceito as opiniões, seja de quem for, mas não quer dizer que concorde. Cada pessoa tem a sua opinião. É o que Pelé pensa. Para quem tem visto a qualidade das minhas últimas épocas, penso que é um pouco injusto», admitiu.
